Traveling in China

Your university is holding the “Traveling in China” Festival to encourage international students to visit China and explore what it has to offer. You and your classmates are going to give a presentation about a tourist destination in China. Which place will you choose? Why do you choose that place? The following steps may help you with the project.

Developing your idea：

Decide on a tourist destination

Form groups of 4-5. 

Brainstorm as many travel destinations as possible that may attract international students, and decide which one you will present. Then give reasons why the place is worth visiting. You may give reasons relating to its history, well-known places of interest, delicious food, unique arts and crafts, and interesting customs and traditions, etc.

Step2： Search for information

Search for information about the tourist destination. You can divide the whole work，and each of you is responsible for one section. For example, three students may be responsible for the reasons, each searching for one. And the fourth student searches for some general information about the place so as to prepare for the introduction and conclusion parts of the presentation.   

Organizing your ideas：draft a script for the presentation. 

First, each of you writes the section you are responsible for in Step 2; then you put them together and work out a well-organized script.

1. Structure: organize the presentation according to the outline given. 

2. Content: give the most convincing reasons for recommending the tourist destination.

3. Language: make full use of the and the sentence structure that have learned from the two texts.

Structure

 Content:

The reasons can be arranged in a certain logical order, e.g., from least important to most important, or vice versa. The first sentence serves as the topic sentence that states a general idea and the other sentences develop the idea with proper examples or evidence.Using effective examples and evidence makes the presentation clearer, more concrete and interesting. Use pictures or other visual aids about the tourist destination.
