The obligations of Both Parties
Theimporter's obligations:
To accept the goods supplied, if they comply with the stipulations in the order;
To pay for the goods according to the terms of payment agreed upon;
To examine the goods after their arrival at the final destination.
The exporter's obligations:
To deliver the goods in strict conformity with the specifications in the order;
To ship the goods at the agreed time;
To guarantee that the goods to be shipped are free from faults.
If faulty goods are delivered, the importer can demand either a reduction in price, or replacement of the goods, or cancellation of the order. He/she may also lodge a claim against the damage.
