An Invitation

A woman saw three oldmen sitting in her front yard. She said, “I don’t think I know you, but youmust be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat.”

“We do not go into ahouse together,” they replied.

“Why is that?” she wantedto know.

One of the old menexplained: “His name is Wealth, this is Success, and I am Love.” Then he added,“Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in yourhome.”

Then the woman went inand told her husband what was said. Her husband said, “Let’s invite Wealth. Lethim come and fill our home with wealth.” His wife disagreed, “My dear, whydon’t we invite Success?” Then the daughter made a suggestion: “Wouldn’t it bebetter to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love.” “Let’s take ourdaughter’s advice,” said the father.

So the woman went outand asked, “Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest.” Lovegot up and started walking toward the house. The other two also got up andfollowed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: “I only invitedLove. Why are you coming in?”

The old men repliedtogether: “If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would havestayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever HE goes, we go with him. Whereverthere is Love, there is also Wealth and Success.”
