Over the years, the United States has witnessed numerous disasters, both man-made and natural. These massive tragedies claim thousandsof lives, wipe out entire cities, cost billions of dollars, and leave millions of families devastated.

      The natural disasters strike the US in the different forms. Here is abrief summary of the severe natural disasters frequently happen in certain regions.

• Tsunamis, volcanoes, and earthquake activity are common types of natural disasters around Pacific region, as well as in Hawaii.

• Hurricanes are witnessed frequently along the Atlantic andGulf of Mexico coasts, especially in the summer and fall.

• Tornadoes are easily formed in the Midwest and southeast.
