1.Learning Objective and list of assignments

Culture shock is posing a grave challenge to all the people in an alien einvironment.  The languages and the customs are the two commons form of barriers.  The text presents the problems  in cross-cultural communications and the possible counermeasures to handle them. After studying this text, you are requried to

• have a thorough understanding of the text contextually and linguistically;(任务点）

• know about the importance of bridging the gap between cultures, build up an active vocabulary to talk about how we should react in a foreign environment and use the key words and expressions in context properly（任务点）

• Know what we should do to deal with cultural shock

• write a well-developed paragraph with a clear topic sentence（任务点）
