In the text, it refers to a 1964 American musical-fantasy film directed by Robert Stevenson and produced by Walt Disney. Writing Skills — Flashback
① Innarratives, the story is usually arranged in time order. However, a device canbe used to recount an event that happened before the present time in the story.This device is called flashback.
② Flashbacks can help readers understand certain motivations, the characters' world and create suspense.
③ There are several ways to recognize flashbacks, such as the change in verb tense and transitional words.
Examples:
① Admittedly, my grasp of narrative was in its formative stages and the ending was a bit of aletdown, but what's interesting is what drove me to write it. (Para. 5)
