Making and confirming arrangements

1 You have decided to meet at Giovanni's restaurant for lunch on Tuesday 14th June. 

Suggest a time. Confirm the arrangement.

2 Your colleague suggests meeting for a drink after work on Friday of this week. You''re not sure if you can make it. Ask him/her for more details---what time, when, how long for,

 etc. Finally, confirm a time and place.

3 A kown and valued client is in town and would like to meet you this evening. He/She 

doesn't know any good resaurants. Suggest a time and place. Confirm the arrangement.

4 A business associate would like to take you out for a meal to thank you for your good 

work on a recent project. Unfortunately, you will be out of the country for the next two

weeks. Negotiate a time , date and place which is convenient for you both. Finally,

confirm the arrangement.  

5 Your boss wants to take you and your partner out to a new Chinese restaurant just 

opened in town a week on Saturday. Unfortunately, you don't like Chinese food. Try to 

negotiate an alternative location. Fianlly, confirm the arrangement.

6 Think of a situation you might actually find yourself in at work where you have to make 

an arrangement to meet someone socially. Practice making suggestions about time, date 

and place, and confirming the arranement.
