Golden Gate Bridge
It links the city of San Francisco with Marin County to the north. Since the suspension bridge opened in 1937, it has been one of the principal landmarks of both San Francisco and California.
Cape Fear
•A high long narrow piece of land which goes out into the sea in southern North Carolina; on the southern tip of SmithIsland, jutting into the Atlantic Ocean, near the mouth of the Cape Fear River.
•It was so named because of thetreacherous waters surrounding it. A prominent landmark on Cape Fear is its lighthouse.
