13-3  Dealing with Emergency


   Scene: Mrs. Bellow is asking the room attendant(RA) for help and the room attendant is giving first aid to Mr. Bellow( B).


M: Room attendant, can you come here, please?


RA: Yes, madam. What can I do for you?


M: My husband has slipped in the bathroom. His nose is bleeding and he cannot stand up.


RA: How unfortunate! Don’t worry, Mrs. Bellow. Leave it tome.( He rushes into the bathroom.)

Mr. Bellow, just lean on me and I will help you to bed.

M: ( Almost in tears)

Go slowly though.

RA: Mr. Bellow, let me pinch your nose to stop the bleeding.

  ( Soon the nose stops bleeding.)

B: Oh, my goodness!


RA: Mrs. Bellow, bring a towel and wash Mr. Bellows face, please.


Mr. Bellow, please dont blow your nose, otherwise it will bleed again. Do you feel better in this position?


B: Yes, but my left knee is really aching.


RA: Everything will be all right, Mr. Bellow. I will send for the doctor. Just relax.


   (The doctor confirms that it is a minor injury with no fracture of concussion.)


    B: It is lucky I havent broken my leg. I am going to Guilinto see the beautiful scenery there.


    RA: Sure, Mr. Bellow. But all you have to do now is to take a good rest in your room. I hope you will feel better soon.


    M: You are most helpful. Thank you ever so much.


 RA: My pleasure.


 


Emergency Report:


May I have your attention please, this is emergency. The hotle is on fire now. Please leave your room immediately and follow the emergency exit door. Please leave the building immediately. Thank you for your cooperation.


紧急事故请注意,酒店发生火警,请立刻离开房间,从太平门撤离,谢谢您的合作。


Ladies and gentleman, attention please, there is a small fire in the hotel, but it is already under control, so please remain calm. For your safety, please follow me to the lobby by the emergency exit, please leave your baggage behind and don’t use the elevator, thank you for your cooperation.


女士们先生们请注意,酒店发生了一场小火灾。但火势已经得到控制,请各位保持冷静,为了您的安全起见,请随我由紧急出口到大堂,请勿携带任何行李也不要使用电梯,多谢您的合作。

   Client:You want to know if it is possible to have an extra bed sent up to the room.


   Employee: Explain the extra bed cannot be sent in unless it is permitted by the Front Offic. Explain it is the hotel regulation.

As room attendants, we should try to give first aid to the guests who get hurt.
