Most people know what a hot dog is. It’s a sausage in a roll. But do you know why it’s called hot dog? Well, the long red sausage(香肠,腊肠)which  11    a hot dog is called a Frankfurter(牛肉及猪肉腊肠). It got its name from the German town Frankfurt. The sausages were very 12    , but hot Frankfurters were difficult to sell in crowds. One man, Henry Stevens, had the job of 13     the crowds at baseball(棒球)games. He had an idea, why not put the Frankfurters in long hot bread rolls? This made them easy to sell. The red sausages were hot and had an attractive taste, and became very popular. But an American cartoonist drew along German sausage dog in place of the Frankfurter. So a Frankfurter in a roll soon became 14         a hot dog. It was a joke, but some people really thought sausages 15 dog meat. For a while, sales of hot dogs fell, but not for long.
