Interurban railway is a type of electric railway, with streetcar-like electric self-propelled rail cars which run within and between cities or towns. Intercity railways can support the integrated development of city clusters.
Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity Railway
The Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan intercity railway is a two-lane high-speed rail line in H
unan Province in central China. Construction on the railway line began in September 2010. The 95.5km-long railway line links the provincial capital Changsha with Zhuzhou and Xiangtan.
The major section of the line, featuring 17 stations, was officially opened for passengers in December 2016. The initial operating speed on the line was 160km/h, which is eventually increased to 200km/h.
The high-speed line covers a Y-shaped route from Changsha to the two terminal points, which reduces the travelling time between Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan by 30 minutes. The railway line is operated by China Railway Guangzhou Group Co.,Ltd.
Guangzhou - Zhuhai Intercity High Speed Train
Around 70 pairs of Guangzhou – Zhuhai high speed trains run between the two cities with the travel time of about an hour. A second class seat ticket costs CNY70. The Guangzhou to Zhuhai distance by these bullet trains is 116 kilometers (about 72 miles).
As Zhuhai is neighboring Macau, operation of the high speed trains also brings lots conveniences for passengers traveling between Macau and Mainland China.
