【逐句解析】

第一句：随着生活水平的提高，度假在中国人生活中的作用越来越重要。“随着生活水平的提高”翻译为With伴随结构即 With the improvement of living standards, 也可译为as引导的时间状语从句,即 As living standards improve。“提高”还可翻译为go up, rise, enhance等。“在……中的作用越来越重要”可直译为参考译文中的形式, 或译为“占据越来越重要的地位”,  is occupying a more and more prominent position in…。

第二句：过去，中国人的时间主要花在谋生上，很少有机会外出旅行。可把“中国人”作主语, 译为Chinese people mainly spent their time on…, 也可把“谋生”作主语译为  making a living takes most of people’s time, which gives them rare chance to go off on a trip。

第三句：然而，近年来中国旅游业发展迅速。“中国旅游业发展迅速”可直译为China’s tourism industry has developed rapidly in recent years。

第四句：经济的繁荣和富裕中产阶级的出现，引发了一个前所未有的旅游热潮。这句的关键是“引发”的译法，除了如译文中译为trigger外，还可译为bring about，give rise to等。“前所未有的”译为unprecedented。

第五句：中国人不仅在国内旅游，出国旅游也越来越普遍。这句的关键是“不仅……也……”, 即not only…but also…的使用, 前半句用倒装语序, 后半句用陈述语序。

第六句：2016年国庆节假日期间，旅游消费总计超过4000亿元。这句的关键是“总计”的译法,可译为add up to或amount to等。

第七句：据世界贸易组织估计，2020年中国将成为世界上最大的旅游国，在未来几年里将成为出境旅游支出增长最快的国家。应注意时态的使用, “2020年中国将成为世界上最大的旅游国”应使用将来完成时, “在未来几年里将成为处境旅游支出增长最快的国家”应使用一般将来时。

With the improvement of living standards, vacation is playing an increasingly important role in Chinese people’s life. In the past, Chinese people mainly spent their time on earning a living and seldom did they have the opportunities to go off on a trip. However, the recent years has witnessed a fast development of China’s tourism industry. The boom of economy and emergence of the affluent middle class, has triggered an unprecedented tourism boom. Not only does domestic traveling become common, but traveling abroad is also enjoying an increasing popularity among Chinese people. During the National Day holiday of 2016, the consumption of tourism adds up to more than 400 billion. According to the estimate of the WTO, China will become the world’s largest tourism country by 2020, and it will also see the fastest growth in overseas traveling expenditure in the next few years.
