In the 1980s, the Chinese government established Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, which served as the experimental field of the socialist market economy. Now, Shenzhen has undergone tremendous changes with a massive population of over 10 million. In 2014, the per-capita GDP of Shenzhen has reached $25,000, equivalent to the level of some developed countries in the world. In terms of overall economic strength, Shenzhen ranks among the top cities in China. Shenzhen is also an ideal place to start businesses for both domestic and foreign entrepreneurs due to its unique position.
