Despite high tuition fee, an increasing number of students storminto overseas universities for further study. In my opinion, studying abroadhas two obvious merits.

Firstly, the prestigious overseas universities guarantee theirqualified graduates a better shot in the job market. Admittedly, both internationaland national enterprises acknowledge and welcome the graduates from topuniversities who outweigh their counterparts in excellent teaching. They placea high value on active learning, problem solving and critical thinking.Secondly, the fierce competition among a handful of elite universities in Chinapushes students into a forbiddingly bloody war, which imposes unbearable stresson the young minds. In case of losing it, many are forced into low-rankcolleges whose teaching may turn out to be a waste of time.

To summarize, instead of being sandwiched between studying home orabroad, we should bear the question in mind – why Chinese education, on a largescale, fails to output the talents urgently needed. It is high time we thoughttwice about our educational system so that it wouldn’t be a headache at all forstudents to opt for where to study.
