Listening strategy — Note-taking (1): Singpost Markers

    Taking notes from speech can be difficult. As a way to grasp main points in a speech, we may pay attention to signpost markers.

     Signposts on roads show direction and the distance to nearby places.

     Signposts in a speech are words and expressions used by the speaker to indicate the direction their talk is going to take.
