★Chris Gardner:  a failing salesman, but actually he is a loving father struggling to live a happy life. Although he isn’t a successful man, he struggles to make ends meet. He is a confident man.He is chosen for a competitive internship at Dean Witter, a stock brokerage. He is really smart. He can solve a Rubik’s cube(魔方) in minutes. 

He believes that if one person makes every effort, happiness will come in the end.


★Christopher: Chris Gardner’s five-year-old son.Although sometimes he will complain, he loves his father and has always been in his father’s side.






★Linda:  Chris Gardner’s wife, a nurse. She loves her child and wants to be a good mother, but she is very much depressed by the burden of life and feels disappointed with Chris.




★Jay Twistle: One member of the main office in charge of Human Resource Management in Dean Witter Company. He oversees Witter Resources. He found that Chris Gardner was talented at something and recommended him to the company.




★Martin Frohm: One of the executives of Dean Witter Company. He was satisfied with Chris Gardner's interview, willing to give him a chance of an internship.




★Alan Frakesh: The office manager of Dean Witter Company who is responsible for training the new interns.




★Walter Ribbon: Pension Fund CEO who is in charge of Pacific Bell pension money and has the potential to be Chris Gardner's big customer.
