Introducing Yourself (自我介绍)

人们初次见面时，需要简单地口头介绍一下自己。书面形式的自我介绍则常常运用在求职信、出国申请信等应用文里。下面有两段自我介绍，请注意两位作者身份和表达的差异。

Nancy Joyce, a 35-year-old English teacher

My name is Nancy Joyce. I’m from the United States. Actually I was born in England and then my family moved to the States when I was a little girl. I have curly brown hair and blue eyes. I’m 165cm tall and perhaps a  little  bit  overweight. I like Chinese culture so much that my hobbies are Chinese painting and Beijing Opera. I enjoy Chinese food and I’m also quite skilled at using chopsticks. I hope I can make a lot more friends in China.

Li Jun, an 18-year-old student from a polytechnic

My name is Li Jun and my hometown is Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. I’m the only son of my parents and they love me very much. My face is tanned but my eyes are shiny. I’m always the tallest in my class and people say I look  skinny. I  like all kinds of sports, basketball, football, tennis, badminton and so on. On weekends, I often go out to have fun with my friends. I hope I can become a good engineer and make enough money to travel around the world.
