Personal Letters (个人信件)

Dear Alice,
I felt so happy to receive your letter yesterday. Your visit to the Salzburg music festival in August was simply wonderful. Please allow me to be a little jealous of you for the free outdoor concerts you’ve enjoyed so much.
Now I’ve something important to tell you: I hope to fly over to meet you sometime next year. In fact, I have been thinking about it for a long time. I know it will be very difficult, but I will try my best to make it possible.
At present, I will keep it a secret. Mama and papa don’t know about it yet. I think I’d better depend on myself. From now on, I will take every chance to do odd jobs and save enough money for the trip.
Wish me good luck!
Yours,
Meg

Dear Meg,
Your letter finally reached me. I have been expecting your reply ever since I mailed my last letter. Though distance doesn’t matter, time does, doesn’t it?
As your planned visit is coming near, I am becoming more and more restless and excited. For a couple of weeks, mother often caught me smiling to myself and even thinking aloud. She says I might lose my senses before I can meet you in person. Anyway, I am sure I will be perfectly ready to receive you by then.
Will you let me know more about your travel plan as soon as you’ve booked the airplane ticket? I can’t wait to show you my beautiful hometown.
Keep in touch!
Yours,
Alice
