(Li Ming and Ma Jian are talking about the examinations they had this morning.
Li: How were the examinations. Ma Jian?
Ma: Not too bad. I guess I passed in English and history. The questions were very easy
How about you, Li Ming?
Li: The English paper was also easy for me because two of the passages for Reading
Comprehension were taken from the texts. But history was too difficult for me. I guess
I failed
Ma: You borrowed my notes two weeks ago. If you had read them carefully, it wouldn't have
been so difficult. What happened?
Li: I'm sorry, I read only a few pages
Ma: How many questions did you finish when the bell rang
Li: Twelve of the sixteen
a: It wasn't that bad. You are sure to pass it. Congratulations
