Task 8  Listening & Interpretation        

        Listen to the five sentences twice and interpret each into Chinese.


1. There are two kinds of stroke. Oneis an ischemic stroke. It happens when a blood vessel in the brain getsblocked.

 有两种类型的中风。一种是缺血性脑卒中。大脑中的血管堵塞时就发生缺血性脑卒中。

2. Silent strokes are brain injurieslikely caused by a blockage that limits blood supply to the brain.

无症状的中风是可能由阻塞引起、导致大脑供血不足的脑损伤。

3. Usually the warning signs appearsuddenly. These include trouble walking, weakness especially on one side of thebody, difficulty seeing and difficulty speaking.

4. Reducing risk means not smoking. Itmeans controlling or avoiding diabetes. It also means keeping a healthy weightand eating healthy foods.

5. Reducing deaths from heart diseasewill require not only changes in the way people live. It will also requirechanges in public policy, and better public knowledge about differences inheart diseasebetweenmen and women.
