Introduction

1. Information about the course

Professional English, is an important selective course for the students who are majoring in Quarantine of animal and plant. 

It is designed for students who have already mastered both fundamental knowledge of English and Entomology and so on. 

Therefore, we need to review the knowledge of General Entomology timely, especially on the concepts and theories of: Insect biology, Insect taxology, Insect ecology etc. 

The total class time of it is 12 hours (one credit) , which will last for the spring term.


2. Instructional Goals

to understand better the knowledge of Entomology and the relationships between insects and mankind.

to improve the capability or level of our professional English, such as abstract or paper writing in English.

to find some interesting ideas, which will help us to develop our academic career in the future. 

Familiarity[fə‚mili'ærəti]  with some helpful information resources dealing with insects, such as journals, website etc.
