Step  1.Warm up

 

1. As a primary  English teacher, what practical techniques do we need in order to make an  effective class?  --- using songs and  rhymes, using games, using projects, using realia (cards, pictures, and  objects), using board writing

2. Discussion:

  “有人认为作为常规教学手段的板书是传统的、陈腐的、落后的、没有研究的必要,迟早要被现代化教学手段所代替。

 Step2.Aims and significance of board  writing
 1. Introduce  what is board writing?
 The written words that a  teacher puts on the black/white board in class.
 2. Talk about  the significance of board writing
 l  精心设计的板书首先有利于吸引学生的注意力。
 l  板书有益于增强学生的记忆力。
 l  板书有助于提高教学效果和质量。
 Step3. Layout of board writing
 1. Ss discuss:  what should be think of when we design our board writing?
 2. Present the  main elements of a board writing: Style of writing,  proper use   of  board space, clarity,  size of words, speed of writing
 1) Style of writing
 Italic   (English)    
 Cursive   (English)
 Block letter style or print  style  (English)
 2)Proper use of board  space
 Board writing can be  divided into 2 parts:
 ●      Main board writing key points
 ●      Minor board writing
   3) Clarity
 Clear and emphasized + Grammatical  key structure (Language knowledge

       简笔画简便直观,可调控性强,与教学情境相结合
  2) Practice:  A contest
  30分钟内完成:1. 规定内容:一男孩或女孩走、跑、跳三个动作的简笔画
 

                         2. 任选三种动物的简笔画。

 

                         3. 更多任选内容(比赛加分项),看谁在规定时间内完成的多。

 Step4. Principles of board writing 
 1. Ss discuss  the principles first according to some cases (see PPT).
  Certain principles in board writing
 Write clearly (large and  not crowded)
 Write straight (divide the  board into 2-3 sections/keep the lines short)
 Stand sideways (stand  half-way turn around and write with your arm)

 Suggest the Ss  when they design a board writing they should pay attention to the following  tips:

 l板书要有色谐感
 l板书设计要运用简笔画
 Step7.  Practice
 1. Case analyses  
   Ss appreciate some cases and discuss them  from the aspect of the form, the layout, or the designing.
 2. Design a board writing referring to Let’s learn, Unit  1-6, PEP 4A.
