2. Three conditions:
Firstly, teacher are given the autority to evaluate, select and adapt textbooks
Secondly, teachers have initiative to evaluate, select and adapt textbooks
Thirdly, teachers know how to evluate, select and adapt textbooks.
In the process of curriculum reform, teachers are encouraged to “use” textbooks rather than “teach”textbooks, implying a responsibility for all the teachers to adapt materials to meet the needs of the local students and teaching contexts. Obviously, developing expertise in evaluating, selecting, and adapting materials has become one of the professional skills of English teachers today.
