Step I  Vocabulary  

1. Group work  Some Ss are asked to match the pictures with the names of different

self-defense.

2. Sentence completing.

A：与reach 有关的固定词组：

     beyond one’s reach     达不到         make a reach for 伸出手 

     within easy reach of 在……附近      

 within sb’s reach 在某人力所能及的范围内

     reach back    回忆，回顾                   reach for  伸手去抓

     reach out     伸出援助之手

   B：follow fashion   赶时髦  

      follow one’s advice    听从某人的意见

   C: explain sth to sb =explain to sb sth  

                     向某人解释某事

      explain 的名词形式 explanation

巩固练习

Step IV  Consolidation  Learn to write a passage

Ss deal with Task 4&5 on p78  and then learn to write a passage. Ss need to find out the improper practices that may lead to dangers in the picture but they need to think out the correct methods to solve the problems.
