Warming  up

 
 

I.  Give the students time to look at the picture at the first page of Unit 7.  And discuss the following questions:

 

1. Which  sport is she doing?

 

2. Do  you like to play it too?

 

3. Do  you think sports are good for your health?

 

II.  Then tell the students here are some pictures about different sports. Ask  them to listen to the recorder and match the pictures with the words in the  box. (SB, p92)

 

III.  Ask the students some questions:

 

1. What  kind of sport do you often do?

 

2. How  often do you do it?

 

3. Is it  your favourite sport? Why or why not?

 

IV.  Then ask the students to listen to a dialogue and do exercise 4 at page 92.

 
 

 

 

 

 

Presentation  of Listening

 
 

I.  Tell the students they are going to listen to a dialogue talked about free  time activities. Teach them how to use the words and expressions in the box:  computer game, be good for, be late for, give up the habit, rise

 

II.  Ask the students to listen again and finish exercise 3 at page 93.

 

III.  Ask the students to read the dialogue in pairs.

 

V.  Ask them to act out the dialogue in pairs.

 
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Listening  Practice

 

 

 
 

I.  Help the students learn the new words and expressions by reading aloud after  the recorder.

 

II.  Ask the students to read a short conversation, which has several missing  words.

 

III.  Ask the students to listen to the conversation and fill in the blanks using  the given words in the box (SB, p94) while listening.

 

IV.  Ask them to do exercise 6 at page 94.

 

V.  Ask them to finish exercise 2 at page 98.

I.  Ask the students to work in pairs and do exercise 8 at page 94.
