Warming   up

I. Ask the students to discuss the  questions in pairs:

1. What do you need to make potato salad?

2. Is it easy or difficult to make potato  salad?

II. Tell the students that they will learn  how to make potato salad.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Presentation

I. Ask the students  to read the words and expressions in the box of exercise 1 at page 83 before  the students begin to learn the text.

II. Ask them to  listen and read the text. They could get help from the others or their  teachers when they have some difficulties in reading.

III. Ask the  students to read the text again and finish exercise 3 at page 83.

IV. Ask them to  read the text again and answer the questions of exercise 4 at page 84.

* Encourage the  students to work in groups to do the exercise 1 at page 32.

VAsk the  students to finish exercise 5 at page 84.

* Encourage some  students to do exercise 4 at page 89

VIGive  students some advices on how to memorise new words, using the learning tips  at page 83.

Practice

 

I. Ask  the students to do exercise 1, practising using the model verbs.(SB, p85)

II. Ask them to  finish exercise 2 at page 85.

IV. Ask them to  introduce a dish to your partner and write down the steps of making the dish.
