Warming   up

I. Give the students time to look at the  picture at the first page of Unit 6. And discuss the following questions:

1. Where are they?

2. What are they doing?

3. How many customers are there in the picture?

II. Ask the students to listen to the  recorder and match the pictures with the words in the box. (SB, p80)

III. Ask the students some questions:

1. What do you usually have for meals?

2. Do you like tea or coffee?

3. Do you often help your parents cook at  home?

IV. Then ask them to listen to a dialogue  and do exercise 4 at page 80.

 

 

 

Presentation

I. Tell the  students they are going to listen to a dialogue happened between the waiter  and the customer. Teach them how to use the words and expressions in the box:  

take one’s order,  order, certainly…

II. Ask the  students to listen again and finish exercise 3 at page 81.

III. Ask them to  read the dialogue in pairs.

V. Ask them to act  out the dialogue in pairs

 

 

 

 

Practice

 

I. Help  the students learn the new words and expressions by reading aloud after the  recorder.

II. Ask  the students to read a short passage, which has several missing words.

III. Ask  the students to listen to the passage and fill in the blanks using the given  words in the box (SB, p82) while listening.

IV. Let  the students do exercise 6-7 at page 82.

For better  students, they should be encouraged to do the listening practice at page 88,  part 1. If they cannot catch the details, read the passage and then listen  again.

V. Ask the students  to do some reading exercises 1-2 at page 76.

VI.  Explanation of the exercises

VII. Ask them to do  some writing exercises 1-4 at page 77-78.

VIII. Ask the  students to work in pairs and do exercise 4 at page 81.

IX. Ask them to  work in pairs and do exercise 8 at page 82.

*Encourage students  to do exercise 2 at page
