Computing Essentials course is intended to help the student to become computer literate and competent. This course will provide the student with an introduction to the basis of computer science concepts assuming no prior knowledge of the topic. The student is introduced to fundamental computing concepts, terminology in order for the student to feel comfortable in a computing environment, which includes a grounding basics of hardware and software used in later specialized courses. Computing Essentials also endeavors to instill an appreciation for the effect of information technology on people and the environment, and to give the students a basis for building the necessary skills to succeed in the 21st century.
