《理解当代中国汉英翻译》是为外国语学院英语类专业三年级学生开设的一门必修课程，共分12章。本课程以习近平中国特色社会主义思想理论为纲，使学生了解翻译基础理论和英汉两种语言的异同，并掌握常用的翻译技巧。旨在通过核心概念解读、关键语句理解与翻译、重点段落分析与翻译，以及拓展训练等方式，有效培养学生的语言运用能力和国际传播能力、思维创新能力、自主与终生学习能力，提高学生讲好中国故事的能力，推动中国更好地走向世界，同时让世界更好地了解中国。 Understanding Contemporary China：Chinese-English Translation with 12 chapters is a compulsory course offered to the third-year students majoring in English, translation, and business English in the School of Foreign Languages. Based on Xi Jinpin's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the course focuses on acquainting students with the fundamental theories of translation, understanding the similarities and differences between English and Chinese languages, and mastering common translation techniques. The course aims to effectively cultivate students’ language proficiency and international communication skills, innovative thinking abilities, and autonomous and lifelong learning capabilities through the interpretation of core concepts, understanding and translation of key sentences, analysis and translation of key paragraphs, as well as expanded training. Hopefully it could enhance students’ ability to effectively convey Chinese stories, promote China’s better integration into the world, and at the same time, help the world to better understand China.
