“对比语言学”是外国语言学及应用语言学博士研究生和硕士研究生的一门学位基础课，也适合对英语学习、英汉互译汉语国际教育、感兴趣的大学英语学习者。 该课程以现代语言学理论为指导，主要是对汉英语言进行系统的对比研究，旨在揭示汉英语言的相似和差异，以寻求可用于语言研究、教学与英汉互译等实际问题的原理。具体教学内容包括对比语言学的学科定义、发展与现状、研究范围与对象、基本理论与方法，着重从词汇、语法、语用、篇章、修辞、文化等方面，对汉英两种语言的异同进行对比。
