课程介绍
社会语言学课程是集知识传授、心理体验与行为训练为一体的专业修课程。课程旨在加强学生在英语语言学方面的知识储备，有利于学生学好其它英语专业课程。核心学习结果：使学生掌握社会语言学的理论基础及学科性质，明确社会语言学的研究内容与研究对象，了解社会语言学的研究概况及发展前景，为他们进一步深化对语言的理性认识，提高他们的语言修养和语言水平打下良好的基础。 The sociolinguistics course is a major course that combines knowledge transfer, psychological experience and behavioral training. The course aims to strengthen students' knowledge base in English linguistics, which is conducive to students' learning of other English major courses. Core Learning Outcomes: To enable students to master the theoretical foundation and nature of the discipline of sociolinguistics, to clarify the research content and objects of sociolinguistics, to understand the research overview and development prospect of sociolinguistics, and to lay a good foundation for them to further deepen their rational understanding of language and to improve their linguistic cultivation and language proficiency.

Course objectives
Why do we speak the way we do?
What are the social factors that influence our choices of expression?
The notion of choice is introduced as the most basic concept of sociolinguistics which studies how social factors affect these choices.
