本课程主要讲授建筑物抗震设计理论与工程设计构造措施。主要内容包括地震基本概况、地震荷载计算和地震荷载下结构的分析方法。涵盖了梁柱、板柱、板墙连接等建筑结构抗震设计的不同理念，以及抗弯框架、延性同心支撑框架和延性偏心支撑框架等钢结构抗震设计的不同理念。本课程内容还包括建筑物中隔板和集力系统的设计，以及混凝土结构、砖混结构和钢结构的设计实例和案例分析。最后，本课程将介绍建筑物的隔振技术和结构抗震的最新发展。
    In this course, theory and engineering design details of seismic design of buildings are discussed. This includes introduction to earthquakes, seismic load calculations and method of structural analysis under seismic loads. Different philosophies of seismic design of building structures such as beam-to-column, slab-to-column, and slab-to-wall connections and different philosophies of seismic design of steel structures such as moment-resisting frames, ductile concentrically braced frames and ductile eccentrically braced frames are covered. Design of diaphragm and load collector systems in buildings is discussed. The course covers the current design practices of concrete, masonry, and steel buildings with referral to US design codes with numerous examples and case studies. At the end, the course introduces the topic of seismic isolation of buildings to provide the recent development of seismic resistant structures.
