• Course Objective

The objective of this course to provide the studentwith the basic understanding of soil formation,soil mechanics and propertiesimportant to civil engineers.

• Learning Outcomes: 

  Uponsuccessful completion of this course, the student shall be able to:

1.Determineengineering properties of soil

2.Classifysoil samples with known engineering properties.

3.Determinesoil compaction; calculate flow of water through soil.

4.Calculateeffective stresses, consolidation and shear stresses.

  Work doneon paper torn out of a spiral notebook willnot be accepted.
