生物化学(biochemistry)是从分子水平探讨生命现象及本质的学科,其主要任务是研究生物体的分子结构与功能、物质代谢与调节、基因信息表达与调控及其在生命活动中的作用。生物化学是医学生必修的基础医学课程,其为医学生在学习其它基础医学和临床医学课程、在分子水平上认识疾病的病因、发病机理、诊断及防治等奠定理论基础。当今生物化学越来越多的成为生命科学的共同语言,它已成为生命科学领域的前沿学科。
